Welcome, Specialist — Here's Your Portal
Welcome, Specialist — Here's Your Portal
Category: Groomers Reading time: 4 min
Welcome to Groomera. Your shop owner has added you to their account, and you now have your own specialist portal — a dedicated space to manage your schedule, view your clients, track your earnings, and stay on top of tasks assigned by the shop.
This article gives you a quick orientation so you know exactly where everything is before your first appointment.
Your Login URL
Specialists log in at a different URL than owners. Make sure you're using:
groomera.com/auth/login?role=specialist
Bookmark this page. If you try to log in at the standard owner login, it won't work — even with the correct email and password.
Your login credentials are the email address the shop owner used to invite you, and the password you created when you accepted the invite.
💡 Forgot your password? Click Forgot Password on the login page, enter your email, and check your inbox for a reset link.
What Your Portal Includes
Your portal is intentionally focused — you see what you need for your workday, nothing more.
Section | What It's For |
My Bookings | Your personal appointment calendar — upcoming and past |
My Tasks | Tasks assigned to you by the shop owner |
My Profile | Your name, photo, services you're assigned to, and your availability |
My Earnings | Your commission and tip summary |
That's it. You won't see other specialists' data, the shop's finances, business settings, or anything outside your own scope. This is by design — your portal is built around your workday.
What You Can See vs. What You Can't
You can see:
- Your own upcoming and past appointments
- Client names, pet names, and appointment notes for your bookings
- Tasks assigned specifically to you
- Your own commission percentage and earnings summary
- Your assigned services and availability settings
You cannot see:
- Other specialists' calendars or earnings
- The owner's financial reports or expense records
- Business settings, subscription details, or billing
- Client lists beyond your own booked clients
If you need information that isn't visible in your portal, your shop owner can access it from the owner dashboard.
Your First Week — What to Check
Before your first appointment:
- Verify your profile — Check that your name and photo look correct. Your profile appears on the public storefront when clients choose who to book with
- Review your assigned services — Confirm the services listed in your profile are the ones you're qualified to perform. If something is missing or incorrect, let your owner know
- Check your availability — Make sure your working days and hours are set correctly. If availability is wrong, clients may be booked in slots you're not actually available for
- Read your upcoming bookings — Review the client notes on any appointments you have coming up. A client who mentioned their dog's anxiety last visit will have that noted there
On your first day:
- Confirm the login flow works — Log in, navigate your calendar, and make sure everything is loading correctly
- Mark your first completed appointment — After finishing an appointment, mark it as COMPLETED in your portal. This keeps the owner's records accurate and triggers the client's review request email
How Appointments Flow to You
Here's how a booking reaches your calendar:
- A client visits the shop's public storefront and selects you as their specialist
- They choose a date and time from your available slots
- They complete the booking — it appears in your portal as an upcoming appointment
- You receive no direct notification (notifications go to the owner) — check your portal regularly or at the start of each shift
For appointments added manually by the owner (walk-ins, phone bookings), they'll appear in your calendar directly — sometimes without advance notice, so it's worth checking your schedule at the start of every day.
A Note on Your Public Profile
Your name and photo appear on your shop's public storefront. When clients browse the booking page, they see all available specialists and choose who they'd like.
A complete profile — with a clear name and a professional photo — makes a difference. Clients are more likely to select a specialist they can see. Ask your owner if you need help uploading or updating your photo.
Getting Help
If something in your portal isn't working:
- Check the Groomers section of this Help Center — it covers the most common specialist questions
- For login issues, see I Can't Log In to My Account →
- For anything else, ask your shop owner — they have access to the full owner dashboard and can resolve most issues from there
