Every new Groomera account starts with a 14-day free trial — full access to all features, no credit card required to begin. This guide explains what the trial includes, how billing works when it ends, and how to choose the right plan for your shop.


What's Included in Your Free Trial

During your 14-day trial, you have unrestricted access to the full Groomera platform:

  • ✅ Public storefront and booking management
  • ✅ Unlimited bookings
  • ✅ Specialist invitations and team management
  • ✅ Client CRM and appointment history
  • ✅ Product inventory and e-commerce store
  • ✅ Financial tracking (income and expenses)
  • ✅ Task assigner
  • ✅ Reports and analytics
  • ✅ Email reminders for all bookings
  • ✅ Contract management

What requires a paid add-on (even during trial):

  • SMS Reminders — $5.99/specialist/month, enabled per specialist
  • AI Voice Assistant — requires the aiAssistantAddon on your account

These two features have per-unit costs tied to third-party services (Bandwidth for SMS, Vapi for AI calls), which is why they're add-ons rather than part of the base trial.


How Your Trial Timeline Works

Trial begins. Full access unlocked.

You'll receive a reminder email that your trial ends in 4 days

Day 13

Final reminder email — choose a plan to avoid interruption

Day 14

Trial ends. Account moves to a limited state until you subscribe.

After Day 14

Your data is preserved. You won't lose anything — you'll just need to subscribe to regain full access.

📌 Your data is never deleted. If your trial ends and you don't immediately subscribe, your business profile, bookings, clients, and settings are all saved. Subscribe at any time to pick up exactly where you left off.

How to Check Your Trial Status

To see how many days remain in your trial:

  1. Log in to your owner dashboard
  2. Go to Settings → Subscriptions or look for the trial countdown banner at the top of your dashboard
  3. You'll see your trial start date, end date, and a button to upgrade

Choosing a Plan

Groomera offers subscription tiers based on the size and needs of your operation. Plans differ in:

  • Maximum number of businesses you can manage under one account
  • Maximum number of team members (specialists) per business
  • AI Voice Assistant — included on higher tiers, or available as an add-on on entry plans

How to Subscribe

  1. Go to Settings → Subscriptions in your owner dashboard
  2. Click Choose a Plan or Upgrade
  3. Select the plan that fits your shop
  4. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout
  5. Enter your payment details and confirm
  6. Your subscription activates immediately

Groomera uses Stripe for all subscription billing. Your card is charged once per month (or annually if you choose an annual plan). You'll receive a receipt from Stripe for every billing cycle.


Add-Ons: SMS Reminders and AI Assistant

These are purchased separately on top of your base plan:

SMS Reminders — $5.99/specialist/month

Enables automated SMS reminders for a specific specialist's clients. Billed per specialist, so you only pay for the team members where you want SMS active.

To add:

  1. Go to Specialists in your sidebar
  2. Open a specialist's profile
  3. Toggle SMS Reminders on
  4. You'll be directed through a Stripe checkout for the add-on
  5. SMS reminders activate for that specialist immediately after payment

AI Voice Assistant

The AI Voice Assistant requires the aiAssistantAddon enabled on your account. This is either included in your plan tier or available as an add-on from your billing settings.

Managing Your Subscription

To upgrade your plan:

Go to Settings → Subscriptions → Change Plan. Upgrades are immediate. The difference in cost is prorated for the remainder of your billing period.

To downgrade your plan:

You can downgrade at the end of your billing cycle. Downgrading takes effect on your next renewal date — not immediately. If the lower plan has a lower specialist limit and you have more specialists than allowed, you'll need to reduce your team size first.

To cancel:

Go to Settings → Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Your data is retained — you can re-subscribe at any time.

To update your payment method:

Go to Settings → Subscriptions → Payment Method. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure portal to update your card details.


Billing FAQ

Will I be charged when my trial ends? No. Your trial ends and your account goes into a limited state. You won't be charged until you actively choose a plan and complete the Stripe checkout.

Is there an annual plan discount? Check the pricing page for current annual plan options. Annual plans typically offer a meaningful discount over monthly billing.

What happens if my payment fails? Groomera and Stripe will retry the charge. You'll receive an email notification if a payment fails. Your account remains active during the retry window. If the payment can't be resolved, access will be suspended until the billing issue is fixed.
