How to Create Your Business Profile
How to Create Your Business Profile
Category: Getting Started Reading time: 5 min
Your business profile is the foundation of everything in Groomera. Your storefront URL, your booking page, your public-facing identity — it all starts here. Setting it up correctly from the beginning saves you from having to fix things later.
This guide walks you through every field in your business profile and what each one does.
Step 1 — Go to Your Business Settings
After logging in as an owner:
- Log in as an owner
- Click Settings in the bottom left of your sidebar
- On the Shop Management tab, locate your shop and click the Edit button
- You'll see the full profile form — fill it out top to bottom
Step 2 — Set Your Business Username
Your username is the most important field in your profile. It becomes your permanent public storefront URL:
groomera.com/[zipcode]/[username]
Rules for choosing a username:
- Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
- No spaces (use hyphens instead: paws-and-clippers, not paws and clippers)
- Keep it short and easy to share — this is the link you'll give to every client
- It cannot be changed easily after clients start booking, so choose carefully
Good examples: bellas-pet-spa, downtown-groomers, cuts-and-paws
⚠️ Choose your username carefully. Once clients have booked using your URL, changing it will break any saved links. If you're unsure, use your shop name as closely as possible.
Step 3 — Fill in Your Business Details
Field | What to Enter | Notes |
Business Name | Your official shop name | Shown on your storefront and booking confirmations |
Phone Number | Your main contact number | Shown to clients; separate from your AI Assistant number |
Email Address | Your business email | Used for booking notifications and client communication |
Street Address | Your physical location | Helps clients find you; used in confirmation emails |
City / State / ZIP | Location details | Required for storefront discovery by ZIP code |
Business Hours | Your operating hours by day | Controls when clients can book online |
Step 4 — Upload Your Logo
Your logo appears on your public storefront, booking confirmation emails, and your dashboard header.
To upload:
- Click the logo upload area in your profile
- Select an image file (PNG or JPG recommended)
- Groomera stores it automatically via Cloudinary — no extra setup needed
Logo guidelines:
- Minimum size: 400 × 400 pixels
- Square format works best (it gets displayed in a square/circle container)
- Use a version with a transparent background if available (PNG)
- Max file size: 5MB
If you don't have a logo yet, you can leave this blank and add it later. Your storefront will display your business name as text in the meantime.
Step 5 — Add Your Google Review Link
This is one of the most powerful — and most overlooked — fields in your profile.
When a booking is marked Completed, Groomera automatically sends your client an email asking them to leave a review. That email links directly to your Google review page.
To find your Google Review link:
- Go to your Google Business Profile at business.google.com
- Click Ask for reviews
- Copy the short link (it looks like g.page/r/[your-id]/review)
- Paste it into the Google Review Link field in Groomera
💡 Why this matters: Automated review requests sent right after a great appointment are the highest-converting review strategy for local businesses. Set this up before your first appointment goes through.
Step 6 — Configure Your Business Hours
Your hours determine when clients can book appointments on your public storefront.
- Toggle each day on or off depending on whether you're open
- Set your opening and closing time for each active day
- Save your changes
Important: Hours set here reflect your shop's availability. Individual specialist availability is managed separately — a specialist can have different hours than the shop (for example, if they only work Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Step 7 — Save and Preview Your Storefront
Once you've filled in your details:
- Click Save at the bottom of the profile form
- Open a new browser tab and go to groomera.com/[zipcode]/[username]
- You'll see exactly what your clients see — your name, services (once added), hours, and booking button
If anything looks wrong — typo in your address, logo not appearing correctly, hours off — go back and edit the profile directly.
What Clients See on Your Storefront
Your public storefront automatically displays:
- Your business name and logo
- Your services and pricing
- Available specialists (with their assigned services)
- Your operating hours
- A booking button for each service/specialist combination
- Your product store (once you've added products)
You don't need to design or code anything. Groomera builds this from your profile automatically.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Leaving your hours blank. If no hours are set, your storefront won't show available booking slots. Clients will see your page but won't be able to book.
Using a personal email. Use a business email address (even a free Gmail with your business name) so that booking notifications and client replies go to the right place.
Skipping the Google Review link. This is easy to add and has a disproportionate impact on your online reputation. Don't skip it.
Choosing a complicated username. If clients have to ask you how to spell your URL, it's too complicated. Simple wins.
Next Step
Your profile is set. Now it's time to add the services clients can actually book.
