How to Book an Appointment

Booking an appointment through Groomera takes less than two minutes. You don't need to create an account, download an app, or call the shop during business hours. Here's exactly how it works.
What You'll Need
Before you start, have these ready:
- The shop's booking link (the shop will have shared this with you — it looks like groomera.com/[zipcode]/shopname)
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your pet's name
- A general idea of which service you want and when
That's it. No account required.
Step 1 — Visit the Shop's Booking Page
Open the link the shop shared with you. You'll land on their public storefront, which shows:
- Their services and prices
- Their team of specialists
- Their available appointment times
If you don't have the link, ask the shop directly — they can send it to you via text or email, or you may find it in their Google Business profile or Instagram bio.
Step 2 — Choose a Service
Browse the services listed on the page. Each one shows the name, a short description, the price, and how long the appointment takes.
Click Book Now on the service you want.
💡 Not sure which service to pick? Read the descriptions — most shops write them to help you understand what's included. If you're still unsure, call or message the shop before booking and they'll point you in the right direction.
Step 3 — Choose a Specialist
You'll be shown the specialists who offer that service. You can:
- Choose a specific specialist — if you have a preference or have seen someone before
- Select "Any Available" (if the shop offers this option) — the system will show you the broadest range of open slots
Step 4 — Pick a Date and Time
A calendar shows the available dates. Click a date to see the available time slots for that day.
Pick the time that works for you.
⚠️ Slots are first-come, first-served. If a time shows as available when you start booking but disappears before you confirm, someone else booked it first. Choose another slot and continue.
Step 5 — Enter Your Details
Fill in your booking information:
Field | What to Enter |
Your Name | First and last name |
Email Address | Where your confirmation and reminders will be sent |
Phone Number | For SMS reminders (if the shop has them enabled) |
Pet's Name | So the specialist knows who they're seeing |
Any Notes | Optional — mention anything the specialist should know (anxious around other dogs, prefers a certain product, specific length request, etc.) |
Step 6 — Complete Payment
If the service has a price, you'll be taken to a secure payment screen powered by Stripe. Enter your card details and confirm.
Your card is charged at the time of booking. You'll see the charge appear as the shop's name on your statement.
💡 Your payment information is never stored by the shop or Groomera. Stripe handles all payment processing securely.
Step 7 — Check Your Email
After booking, you'll receive a confirmation email at the address you provided. It includes:
- Your appointment date, time, and service
- The specialist's name
- The shop's address and contact information
- Their cancellation policy
Keep this email — it has everything you need for your appointment.
You're Booked
That's it. You don't need to call to confirm or follow up. The shop will reach out to you automatically with reminders before your appointment.
If anything changes before your appointment — you need to reschedule, you have a question, or you want to update your pet's notes — contact the shop directly using the contact information in your confirmation email.
